Katherine Heigl has revealed that she grew up in a bubble of white and how this experience impacted how she raised her adopted multiracial kids. In an interview, the "Firefly Lane", as well as "Grey's Anatomy", actress revealed her body didn't matter to her, however, after having a conversation with her adoptive sister from South Korea about how society treated them, she became aware of how much different they were. "I inquired of Meg how she was that she was treated differently when going out with our parents and when she went out on her own. Meg responded "Oh I do, each and every occasion!" Heigl said to her parents: "That was when I was aware of how foolish I had caused me to feel." Her anger grew by the incident, and decided to make use of her anger to support her two adopted daughters. Heigl is the mother of a 4-year-old son with her 13-year spouse, Josh Kelley. They adopted Nancy Leigh (age 12) from South Korea and Adalaide (age 8) and is black, in 2009.
