A baby was strapped to my back as another crawled around in the playground. I spent 12 hours days, for months, sanding and stripping wallpaper and with just one child. Ha! It was all falling in place, yet there was still a long way to go. The project would require time, money as well as my personal favorite to complete the interior of this house. In order to keep my budget sound, I travelled with my three boys in search for bargains at estate sales. We had a weekly schedule that consisted of spending Friday through Saturday at estate sales and garage sales purchasing new and old objects. The rest of the week painting and sanding on the driveway. My passion for furniture restoration started with an appearance like this. I continued to work on furniture, even after having decorated our house. There was a market in the area to let me sell my pieces. I eventually had lots of pieces, I didn't think of a solution and outgrew the space. More than 1000 people came to my home in just one weekend, to shop for everything on the ground floor. My business Growing Days began here. While my company grew and so did our small family. Finding the balance was important for me. I wished to balance being a mother and a successful business owner. Growing Days just fit. Nora was born in 2013 to be our fourth baby. It was a great direction for my business, however, I needed some time off. I made the decision to take some break from my antique furniture and be at home with my children. It was the right time. However, after just a couple of minutes, my phone began to ring. A lot of people contacted me to ask for advice on home improvement and decorating. A majority of these were those who had walked through my property during open houses for furniture! In the following months, I began to take on more clients, at my own speed. Soon I had multiple clients, and had as a home improvement business. There is a good chance that I would have laughed if someone had told me the company was to become the premise of an upcoming tv program in the DIY Network. Actually I still kind of laugh when I think about the idea.
